Kinetic Potential is a mission-driven workforce development organization that partners with public agencies such as the Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) to deliver life-changing services for individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Position Overview:
KP Mentors provide direct one-on-one support to DORS clients, including youth and adults with disabilities. They help individuals build resumes, develop interview skills, and enhance their soft skills, while also providing job coaching and workforce readiness training. Mentors work closely with clients to promote confidence, independence, and meaningful employment outcomes.
• Deliver services such as Pre-ETS, Job Development, Job Coaching, and Work Adjustment Training
• Guide clients through career exploration and employment readiness activities
• Support youth in transition and adults seeking job placement
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress in line with DORS requirements
• Collaborate with KP staff and DORS counselors to ensure high-quality service delivery
Qualifications:
• Interest in mentoring and a passion for workforce development and equity
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable using technology for remote service delivery and documentation
• Willingness to complete KP Foundations and Mentor Certification (training provided)
Training & Certification Path:
• Step 1: KP Foundations Course (4 hours)
• Step 2: KP Mentor Certification for each service area (10 hours per service)
